Nestled on the shores of Lake Tapps, this home’s goal was to seamlessly integrate the architecture and the property’s natural environment. Creating harmony between the steep sloping site and ground the design in the slope while extending out to the views through the tall fir trees. Celebrating the beauty of the home’s surroundings. Early on in the design process, focus was placed on the entry sequence and sense of arrival to the home. You enter the home stepping down to a long covered bridge, giving emphasis to the slope and separation to the home. The tall concrete walls at the entry provide shelter and structure to the home as it extends out from the slope.
