Suyama Peterson Deguchi — 2006
This single-family residence is located on a steep corner lot in a dense urban neighborhood. The dynamic site boasts incredible westerly views, but presents few opportunities for private outdoor space. By moving the conditioned architectural volumes forward towards the view, a series of inner courtyards were created, fulfilling the clients request for private outdoor space. The courtyards anchor the house to the site and provide a sense of sanctuary. Completed in 2006.
