Borth House

SHKS Architects — Lake Wenatchee, WA

Entry area of a house featuring wooden cladding, stone tile floor, and a cantilevered roof with exposed beams.

A promenade displaying the owner's collection of painting's and sculpture connects the space of procession and contemplation with the everyday activities of living, cooking and dining. The stone terrace extends the interior living space into the landscape, providing access to the lakefront. While the library/study area on the second floor serves as a transition between the public and private domain. The house, located on the north shore of Lake Wenatchee conforms to the topography and is oriented with respect to the sun and views.
