At AWA, we believe that architecture is serious fun. We love design of all kinds – from the biggest ideas to the smallest details. We believe that the best results come from true collaboration between all project constituents, both within the studio as well as across the project team (owners, contractors, consultants and subcontractors). We like to keep the ideas fresh and flowing. We strive for innovative solutions so that each design is a custom reflection of the specific needs and desires for each project. In the end, architecture must be functional and it must be meaningful. Architecture is a serious endeavor….but we like to have some fun along the way.
Prior to founding AWA in 1994, Ana worked with Alvaro Siza Vieira in Porto, Portugal (1992 Pritzker Laureate), and with Michael Graves Architect in Princeton, New Jersey (2001 Gold Medal of the AIA). These experiences with two of the world’s most influential architects played a definite role in cementing Ana’s love for modern design while developing a thorough understanding and respect for the classical tradition.
She earned her Masters Degree in Architecture at Princeton University, and her Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida. She was born in Bogota, Colombia, gaining her first exposure to architecture from her uncle Vicente Nasi, an Italian born architect who established a successful practice in South America and was a contemporary of Le Corbusier.
Her practice in Menlo Park CA has focused on residential projects that reflect her passion for a truly successful architectural process, fulfilling the requirements of its customers with a balance of design, sustainability, and thoughtful execution.
